垃圾收費該見「好」就收還是迎難而上？

我們建議政府在所有政府物業（公共屋邨除外）先行先試，汲取經驗，然後再擴展到企業及商界。其實商界早在多年前已逐步履行「環境、社會和管治」責任，對垃圾收費和減廢工作一早有所準備，只要政府場所實行垃圾收費，計劃即可逐步擴展至商界，實行一年後，便可在全港推行垃圾收費。現屆政府經常說「迎難而上」，這正是我們為環境和下一代展現迎難而上精神的最佳時機。

垃圾應該運到內地處理嗎？

最近北京召開「兩會」，有高層官員稱，正探討香港可否把垃圾送往內地集中處理。首先要談的是，官員稱的「垃圾」，其實指的是什麼呢？京、滬、穗、深等大型城市已實行強制垃圾分類多年，在這些城市，垃圾須分成廚餘垃圾、可回收物、有害垃圾和其他垃圾四類，當中當然也包括了市民常常回收的紙料、金屬、塑膠、廢舊電器等等。垃圾應否運到內地處理的討論，早在去年年中出現，當時環境及生態局局長也強調，與內地探討「無廢灣區」，意思是討論跨境回收，而非把香港的垃圾直接送到內地焚燒或棄置。

Hong Kong shouldn’t water down its producer responsibility scheme

The Hong Kong government recently released details about the producer responsibility scheme for single-use plastic drink containers and sought approval for a common legislative framework for the efficient management of different products. While I fully support the framework, I am disappointed by the weakness of the proposal compared to the one released in 2021.
